Custom Wedding Dress Painting- the “Allure” 8901

    2014 - 03.11

Custom wedding dress paintings are my absolute favorite things to create for brides!

    This one was no exception!!

Do you remember the “Looe Key” underwater grouper and coral painting that a bride bought her her husband as a wedding gift? For their 1 Year wedding anniversary, the husband bought his wife a custom wedding gown painting as her gift! (See my next post to see what she got him!)

The background color is a blush pink, which I picked up from her blush bridesmaids dresses.

The wedding dress is the Allure 8901 Style Wedding Dress.

Custom Wedding Dress Painting – Watters Greta Gown

    2013 - 05.24

Here is the latest custom wedding dress painting! Do you remember the wedding gown painting, “La Sposa – Devesa”? The same client contacted me for her other sister’s wedding! Her sister loves the color Canary and Navy Blue. This is a painting for the Watters Greta wedding dress, and a photo that she took with Roderick Photography on her wedding day!

Underwater Grouper Painting – “Looe Key Sanctuary”

    2013 - 05.24

This is a gift a bride got for her new hubby for their wedding today!
He loves diving, and sees groupers, yellowtail snappers, and Florida lobsters on his dives down in the keys. I created the underwater grouper painting / coral reed painting for them as a result, with other painted sea life to bring the painting to life!

    Shrimp Boat Painting

    2013 - 05.24

Hi All! A Facebook friend of mine who lives in Savannah, GA, posted a photo of some Shrimping Boats in a Harbor, and I really wanted to recreate it with a little bit of a different perspective. The setting is sunrise, with a warm glow bouncing off the weathered shrimping boats, docked in the harbor. I named the shrimping boat painting “Safe In The Harbor”. It is 24″ x 48″, acrylics on canvas, and it is available for sale!

Third On Canvas 2013 – Alexis Martinez Puleio

    2013 - 02.08

IT IS MY FAVORITE TIME OF THE YEAR!!! That is right! I just finished my two day painting event for Third On Canvas 2013! The weather in Florida was absolutely PERFECT for the event! I was lucky enough to paint next to Popo Flanigan, who is so nice and was a joy to work next to.

For last year’s Third On Canvas event, I painted orchids and got label as “The Orchid Lady”. In keeping with the name, I wanted to do orchids again this year. However, I stepped up my game this year and introduced RESIN to the artwork!

I started by painting a wood board a Sea Foam green color, then poured on resin, painted my acrylic orchids on top of this resin coat, and then added a top coat of resin to the painting. This gave a great “floating” effect, with a natural shadow.

Here are some photos of my White Orchid Painting on Resin, and my Purple Orchid Painting, as well as some fun photos from the day!

    Enjoy!

    Naples Pier Painting

    2011 - 11.13

I am so very honored to be given the opportunity to painting a birthday gift for the “President North America” of Christian Dior Perfumes and Cosmetics – Terry Darland. What a wonderful woman! I was asked by the account executive of Christian Dior, Lourdes Vazquez, to recreate a childhood memory for Terry. I found out that one of her favorite memories growing up was visiting her grandmother down in Naples, Florida, and watching the sunset from the Naples Pier.

Since the pier is nice and long, I wanted to do a panoramic painting on a 12″ x 30′ gallery wrapped canvas.

I started out doing the sky and clouds, then on to the water, and lastly, the Naples Pier.

I drove up to Saks Fifth Avenue in Sarasota on 11.11.11 (great wish come true!) to present this gift to her at her luncheon.

I hope that you all enjoy these photos of the Naples Pier Painting at Sunset as much as I enjoyed creating it!

“La Sposa – Devesa” Custom Wedding Dress Painting

    2011 - 11.13

Today I bring you my newest custom wedding dress painting! I was contacted by a girl from Connecticut who wanted to get her sister (who got married TODAY!!) a custom wedding gown painting to give to her as a gift on her wedding day! The designer is Pronovias and is called “La Sposa – Devesa”

Her sister’s favorite color is orange, and the wedding colors were going to be amber, brown, oranges, gold…so I wanted to tie those colors into the painting.

This painting is 11″ x 14″ acrylics on canvas, with a textured background.

    Hope you enjoy!

“Fast Anchor’d” – an Anniversary Gift

    2011 - 11.12

Remember the sailboat painting, ‘Slow M’Ocean’? The owners were ready for their next custom painting!

The wife contacted me to get an anniversary gift done for her husband. The anchor held special meaning to them, as it was a part of their wedding in many ways.

I came up with the idea of doing a round  underwater painting, to give the feel as if you were looking out of a porthole.

I searched for a long time for a porthole frame, and couldn’t find one I wanted for the longest time. Of course, once I stopped looking, the porthole frame found me! It was a great find!

The painting is of an old ferruginous anchor, nestled at the bottom of the ocean and resting up against some rocks. If you look closely, you will see Sergeant Fish, and a meaning sea shell in the background.

I hope you enjoy this custom porthole painting!
