Yellow Baby Moccs – A Nursery Painting

    2014 - 07.13

As a mommy to one adorable Giuliana, I have a great group of fellow mommies on Instagram that I love to follow who create handmade baby items! A super cute trend that I love is the baby  moccasins!! There is just something about those cute little baby legs wearing brightly colored baby moccs! I love how my daughter inspires me <3 I created her a 5″x7″ Yellow Baby Moccs painting, and matted it to 8″ x 10″ and put it in her room! I LOVE IT!!! I can’t wait to create other in a variety of colors and have them up for sale in the soon to be Etsy shop! Until then, email me for your custom pair!!

    My Giuliana Turns ONE!

    2014 - 06.25

AHH!!! I cannot believe my baby girl turned one years old already!! My heart breaks!!! She is my best friend and I love watching her grow every day!

We had a beach bash for her with family and friends, and I of course had to create some special touches for her party!

    Here are some details below:

It was a rainy afternoon on the day of her birthday, so I setup she smash cake session in her bedroom (Thank Goodness for tile floors!)

Let’s start with some Etsy finds first, because I love to support fellow handmade crafters! The anchor fabric bunting banner is from Vintage Green Limited (link to purchase: https://www.etsy.com/listing/188168412/bunting-banner-fabric-pennant-flags?ref=shop_home_feat_3) as well as her super cute nautical cake banner (Link to purchase: https://www.etsy.com/listing/152436909/nautical-cake-topper-banner-party-mini?ref=shop_home_active_5&ga_search_query=anchor%2Bcake%2Bbanner)

The paper garland is from Any Occasion Banners (link: https://www.etsy.com/transaction/201971686)

I decided to go back to my latin roots and create her an Anchor Piñata! I customized it with her name on it! :)

I also made a custom anchor corn hole game set for the party! I love this! I can’t wait to use it at all our parties and beach outings.

I also created her a 1 year birthday felt crown :)

“One Happy Island” – Aruba Painting

    2014 - 03.11

How great is this: Did you see my previous post on the Allure 8901 Wedding dress a husband bought his wife for their 1 year wedding anniversary? WELL, the wife contacted me 1 hour after him, saying that she would like to get HIM a painting for their 1 year wedding anniversary…without knowing that he was getting her one too! I believe that this is an example of true soul mates!

They had gone to Aruba for their honeymoon, and Gia, the wife, wanted to incorporate some special memories from Aruba into a split-view painting- The Giwi Tress, Black Stone Beach, the shipwreck that they dove, and a hidden “G+W”.

    Here are the results!

Custom Wedding Dress Painting- the “Allure” 8901

    2014 - 03.11

Custom wedding dress paintings are my absolute favorite things to create for brides!

    This one was no exception!!

Do you remember the “Looe Key” underwater grouper and coral painting that a bride bought her her husband as a wedding gift? For their 1 Year wedding anniversary, the husband bought his wife a custom wedding gown painting as her gift! (See my next post to see what she got him!)

The background color is a blush pink, which I picked up from her blush bridesmaids dresses.

The wedding dress is the Allure 8901 Style Wedding Dress.

    Shrimp Boat Painting

    2013 - 05.24

Hi All! A Facebook friend of mine who lives in Savannah, GA, posted a photo of some Shrimping Boats in a Harbor, and I really wanted to recreate it with a little bit of a different perspective. The setting is sunrise, with a warm glow bouncing off the weathered shrimping boats, docked in the harbor. I named the shrimping boat painting “Safe In The Harbor”. It is 24″ x 48″, acrylics on canvas, and it is available for sale!

Third On Canvas 2013 – Alexis Martinez Puleio

    2013 - 02.08

IT IS MY FAVORITE TIME OF THE YEAR!!! That is right! I just finished my two day painting event for Third On Canvas 2013! The weather in Florida was absolutely PERFECT for the event! I was lucky enough to paint next to Popo Flanigan, who is so nice and was a joy to work next to.

For last year’s Third On Canvas event, I painted orchids and got label as “The Orchid Lady”. In keeping with the name, I wanted to do orchids again this year. However, I stepped up my game this year and introduced RESIN to the artwork!

I started by painting a wood board a Sea Foam green color, then poured on resin, painted my acrylic orchids on top of this resin coat, and then added a top coat of resin to the painting. This gave a great “floating” effect, with a natural shadow.

Here are some photos of my White Orchid Painting on Resin, and my Purple Orchid Painting, as well as some fun photos from the day!

    Enjoy!

    Gulf Coast Painting with Resin

    2013 - 02.08

This is one of my favorite paintings that I did, mostly because it was a painting that I did in my free time.

I used Oil Paints in a stick form, on wood board, to create the waves crashing here on the Florida Gulf Coast. This Gulf Coast Painting was then coated in epoxy resin…one of my FAVORITE things to do! I loveeeee resin!

    Here is the final product:

    3D World Map Painting

    2013 - 02.08

This was an exciting painting for me to try, because it was something I had not done in the past. My good friend, Ashley, found a digital image on google of a world map that looked like it was made out of water. She wanted me to try to recreate it for you with a 3D effect.

To create this effect, I used a modeling paste called Structura, which I then tinted to the color of water.

Here is the 3D World Map Painting on Canvas:
